Eligibility

  • Enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe or California Judgment roll. One member of the household is required to be Native American. (Some tribes may recognize lineal descendants).
  • Have a minor dependent child in the home. Individuals expecting a child may be eligible in their 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
  • Reside on the Soboba Indian reservation, Santa Rosa Indian reservation or within the City of Riverside. All Soboba and Santa Rosa tribal members and descendants may reside in Riverside County.
  • Meet federal poverty income guidelines.

Caretaker Relatives

  • Any person who is not the parent, but who is related to a dependent child by blood and who has care and control of a dependent child may apply for aid for that dependent child.
  • There is no limit to the degree of relationship. Care and control of the dependent child may be verified by court documents, notarized statements from the parents, or by home visits from an STTP staff member.

SERVICE POPULATION

 

STTP will serve all eligible Native American families and their children who have at least one member of their household (child or adult) who is a member or descendent of a federally recognized Indian Tribe or identified on the California Judgment Rolls that reside within the City of Riverside or on the Soboba Reservation. This includes all Soboba Tribal members and descendents that reside within Riverside County, excluding the Morongo service areas and reservation lands served by Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians.

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR TANF?

  • Have a minor dependent child in the home. Individuals expecting a child may be eligible in their 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
  • Reside on the Soboba Indian reservation or within the City of Riverside.
  • Meet the federal poverty income guideline of equal to or less than 300%.

CARETAKER RELATIVES NEEDY OR NON-NEEDY MAY QUALIFY FOR TANF SERVICES
