Soboba Tribal TANF

Eligibility

  • Enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe, members of a Tribe identified on the California Judgment roll and their descendants. At least one member of the household is required to be Native American.
  • Have a minor dependent child in the home. Individuals expecting a child may be eligible in their 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
  • Reside within the City of Riverside, on the Soboba, Santa Rosa or Cahuilla Indian Reservations. All Soboba and Santa Rosa tribal members and descendants that reside in Riverside County.
  • Meet federal poverty income guidelines.

Caretaker Relatives

  • Any person who is not the parent, but who is related to a dependent child by blood and who has care and control of that dependent child may apply for aid for that child.
  • There is no limit to the degree of relationship. Care and control of the dependent child may be verified by court documents, notarized statements from the parents, or by home visits from an STTP staff member.

Caretaker Non-Relatives

  • Non-relative caregivers who have established custody and/or guardianship of eligible American Indian child(ren) placed by Court, County or Tribal Social Services.
